Me and my 96 year old Grandad (Laurence Watts) is looking at this photo in pure amazement! He was evacuated to Davos from England during the second world war as a result of his serious asthma condition. He has never seen a photo of the home where he stayed during the war up until now (30.09.26) Unbelievable stuff! He has many stories of Hotel Jenny! He stayed on the top floor (with Donald Wilson, Morris Roughton and Derrick (surname he cant remember) pictured in the photo with the balcony and remembers people coming up to his room and onto the balcony regularly to capture a glimpse of the bombers flying over at high altitude! Of course, you could hear them before you saw them. I hope to visit Davos myself one day on his behalf and possibly explore some of the ski slopes! Amazing website, a window into the past and lots of useful information!!!!
